Q: What is the difference between ‘heat transfers’ and
‘hot press’?
A: None! Actually heat transfers have been around for a really
long time 20-30 years) and so many people have tried to come up
with different names to distinguish themselves. Basically, Heat
Press, Hot press, Hot Stamping, Iron-on, all refer to the same
thing.
Q: Are Heat Transfers lasting?
A: That depends on many factors, man and materials. Are the workers
skilled and properly trained? Are the materials of good quality?
Is the customer washing the t-shirt a maniac? With the right application
of heat transfers, coupled with good quality materials, heat transfer
prints can be as durable as any other types of printing and even
better. You can even have other qualities such as elasticity for
stretchable fabrics i.e. swimwear, tights, cycling suits etc.
Q: How should I take care of my t-shirts?
A: it is always recommended that you flip the shirt in-side-out,
to prevent abrasion that may occur while spinning in the washing
machine. Using a dryer is generally alright but if the print is
a multicoloured print then it’s best to hang dry. And lastly,
do not iron over the prints! You can iron around it, or from the
inside.
